FixMyStreet for Porthill

The latest problems for Shropshire Council within Porthill ward reported by users
  • Leaf build up on pavement causing staining and slippery when wet!, 17th October
Right along the pathway outside shoe b do the children’s shoe shop, we’ve swept them a few times ourselves as customers were complaining but we can’t get rid of the orange staining on pavement and as there’s children coming into our shop parents have complained of difficulty with their prams, ideally the pavement could do with being steam cleaned and then we can try and stay on top of sweeping the leaves! Thankyou

  • Ivy and leaf debris encroaching onto the pavement, needs clearing, 15th October
The ivy and hedges on the Mount from Hafren Road junction to just before the terraces with the pub are overgrown and untended. Leaf debris and vines have been left to collect on the pavement and have started to overgrow it, narrowing its width for pedestrians. Needs the hedge clipping back, and the pavement surface clearing with a space to reclaim the space for pedestrians.

  • Massive hedges needing cutting back so people can use the pavement safely, 15th October
The hedges along this length of the Mount are huge and block the pavement across half its width, forcing pedestrians to walk on the very edge right next to speeding traffic. This is dangerous. I have reported this several times and they are never trimmed back more than six inches. They are at least 18 inches over the pavement and need a huge amount of work doing to reclaim the pavement for all users.
